Béla Bartók was a Hungarian composer and pianist. He is considered one of the most important composers of the 20th century. Through his collection and analytical study of folk music, he was one of the founders of ethnomusicology.
He wrote: "By the time I had complete my 22nd year, I was a new man - an atheist."
In a letter from 1905, Bartók wrote, "It is odd that the Bible says, 'God created man,' whereas it is the other way round: man has created God."
