David Cross (April 4, 1964 - ) is an american comedian. Cross, along with his comedy partner Bob Odenkirk, are the guys behind Mr. Show on HBO. He has made numerous movie and TV appearances, including lending the voice to "Zero" in the hugely popular video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Timeline

1998- During the March 9, 1998 Politically Incorrect on ABC, Cross said "I was born Jewish, but I am an atheist. I don't believe in God."

1999- The Mr. Show website features a personal message from Cross himself: "Again, thanks for watching and although there is no GOD, have an enjoyable holiday gift time. Yours in Christ, David"

2000- In the September 6, 2000 edition of The Onion A.V. Club titled "Is There A God?", celebrities were asked the question. Cross was among those asked.

The Onion: Is there a God?

David Cross: Uh, let me reserve that answer for after I take this huge shit I've gotta take, because I might come up with an answer. Something might not make itself known to me until then, if you know what I mean. So, rather than just go, "Yes!" or "No!," or come up with some funny retort, I might know more after I take this really healthy shit. It's been like a day coming, so I think I may get some answers. That's my answer. [1].

2002- On David Cross's standup comedy album, "Shut Up, You Fucking Baby!", he says, "I'm an atheist, and I was an an early age." Then he does a bit about fake stories in a Promise Keepers book. In his introduction to the bit he says "The Bible truly is one of the funniest books I've ever read. ... It was written thousands of years ago, when people were even dumber than they are today. ... It's absurd to believe in that shit."

2004- On David Cross's standup comedy album, "It's Not Funny," he does a bit which begins, "Oh, so I was watching that show--uh, the fuck--the show where the, uh, there's the guy on stage and then everybody in the audience believes that he, uh, has contact with the dead and spirits talk to him" (someone in audience: "The Other Side"?) "Crossing...? No, no, no, no--it was church."

2005- On "Too Late with Adam Carolla," Adam showed a picture of an Angler Fish and said "How can you not believe in God when this exists?" To which David replied sarcasticly: "There is a God, thanks Angler Fish!"
