Jesse Ventura

James George Janos (born July 15, 1951), better known as Jesse Ventura, is a Slovak-American politician, the 38th Governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003, Navy UDT veteran, actor, and former radio and television talk show host. As a professional wrestler, he is best known for his nickname, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, and tenure in the World Wrestling Federation as a combatant and color commentator. In 2004, he was inducted into the company's Hall of Fame.[1]

On 4-4-2011 Jesse Ventura appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight a CNN broadcast and spoke about the unlikelihood that he could be elected President of the United States. When speaking about religion he stated "well I have a problem there too because I've now admitted that I'm an atheist. And in this country of the United States which is fascist now in my opinion, organized religion teaming up with corporations to control the government. In the United States there is some prevailing feeling out there that because you don't believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or God this being you can never see that exists only in your mind, that somehow you don't have values."

In a Playboy Interview from November of 1999 Jesse Ventura said "Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers. It tells people to go out and stick their noses in other people's business. I live by the golden rule: Treat others as you'd want them to treat you. The religious right wants to tell people how to live."

Ventura has stated that he was raised a Lutheran.
