In a May 8, 2005 interview with The Sunday Herald, Scott was asked about his religious beliefs:
Q: Are you a Christian?
RS: I'm an agnostic. It doesn't mean I'm an atheist. An atheist is certain there's nothing else. I'm not quite sure. Being a doubting Thomas makes you ask the best questions. [2]
