In the July 1998 issue of Guitar World magazine, on page 196, guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman of the band Slayer are both mentioned by the writer of the interview as being atheists.

A reader reports Tom Araya, bass player and vocalist, is not an atheist. He is Catholic.
