"There are lots of curious things about Soderbergh's biography, not least that he comes from the South - born in Atlanta (1963) and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after an early childhood in Texas, Virginia and Pennsylvania - not places you'd expect to find someone growing up to be a left-winger, let alone an atheist."
