Saul has been designated as Canadian Humanist of the Year [1995] by the Humanist Association of Canada, mainly for the humanistic arguments he uses in two of his books: Voltaire's Bastards and The Doubter's Companion. The latter is subtitled "A Dictionary of Aggressive Common Sense" and carries on the Biercian tradition of the Devil's Dictionary.

You might like to know he's now married to Canada's Governor-General, the appointed titular Head-of-State, and representative of Canada's Queen (coincidentally the same Queen the brits claim as their own.
