Nathaniel Branden

A long-time associate of the late philosopher-author Ayn Rand, Branden shares his mentor's atheism and disdain for religion. In several of his books, including The Disowned Self, and Breaking Free, Brandon discusses the destructive effects of religious faith on self-esteem and psychological well-being. In a 1996 interview with the Objectivist publication Full Context, Branden denied rumors that he had embraced "God, altruism, and flying saucers."
