I truly wish people would learn the difference between a writer and his characters.

The statement, "Men rarely (if ever) managed to dream up a god superior to themselves. Most gods have the manners and morals of a spoiled child," was by Lazarus Long, a character of Heinlein's, in "Time Enough For Love". It may or may not reflect RAH's beliefs.
